Haha, there's a place that looks identical to this in Sheffield, except for a few differences, but I thought that's because it might've changed since the photo was taken!

The camera in the outdoor is better then my old HTC One X, but sadly not in low light..
You can read clearly the words on that ship..

Edit : Ah, XDA compressed my picture

I come from HTC One S and used the exactly same camera with you. My z1c does capture more details both indoor and outdoor but the focus is bad on this phone(should be software problem from Sony) so in low light... yes my HTC usually wins the fight.

You can try 4.4.4 with this mod v7 8MP, the focus should be better now but still not to the level of our HTC.

Only video part is a clear winner because it got 4K recording with mod.

Still not root my z1c, maybe next month I'll root it and of course I will read how to root this first. All I know is flashing recovery is different with HTC style. Anyway, I love the performance of this little beast..

The way HTC used to flash kernel and recovery is easier to understand but HTC got S-ON to lock to flash radio and HBoot which is very annoyed though we can also do S-OFF now.

If you are on 4.4.2, use this tool newroot, it will root and install cwm recovery for you.

v7 8MP mod will need a 4.4.4 deodexed rom to play with. You can also follow my guide #5 to flash 4.4.4 via flashtool if you not yet received the OTA update from Sony.

If you are on 4.4.2 and check now if any update to 4.4.4 available on your phone. Recommended to do factory reset when upgrade to 4.4.4, I've seen many cases who got wired problem if no reset like battery draining, unstable, camera problem.

DONATE TO ME
They say you can get better looking pictures from the 8mp SA rather than 20mp image. This picture proves that theory wrong. Just look how much detail 20mp has. You'll notice which one is the 20mp.

Top reliable phones I have had: HTC One. LG G2, Nexus 4, Note 2, Nokia 5800, Motorola RAZR V3X, Motorola RAZR i, Nexus 5 Had many more, but these devices were the best IMO.

Current Phone: HTC One M8

No, they are correct. 20MP real got more details but more harder to focus and 8MP is always easier to get focus right. The different may minimum at outdoor with good lighting but it is very easy to notice 8MP done a better job on focus at indoor or outdoor cloudy day.
