Then when i go to reboot it tells me;

Can you point me to the right direction for Odin? that was my plan but ive seen so many different methods I dont know which one is appropriate for my phone and firmware
I'm sure he'll point you to correct Odin. You have 777 or 959? Also I would use 6.0.2.7 for JB from ajk. Never heard of that specific version. Installing root does nothing in recovery, it's installing super su to the system. I've had that error when I had a bad recovery before

Sent from my SGH-I317 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Here is a link for the 4.1.2 (UCMD) stock firmware (thanks to creepyncrawly). - http://d-h.st/Jn7

That's what I always go back to stock with. Extract the tar.mds file and flash it in the PDA slot in Odin. Search the forums if you're unfamiliar with how Odin works. It's pretty simple really.

After that, use Framaroot to root it, and Mobile Odin on your phone to flash [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1367800"]this kernel[/URL. (be sure to extract the zImage from the actual ZIP. The zImage is what will flash through Mobile Odin. Select reboot into recovery for what it does after flashing.

After that, flash the compatible kernel of your choice and rom of your choice.

PM me if you have any questions. I should be around for a while.
