28Jul14 (w.r.t. android-4.4)
  • smartassH3: Enable boost pulse by default!
  • board-pico.h: allow to rework memory a *little* (experimental)

new downloads folder: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/amn...va/cody_kernel

you may choose either the 408 mB or 422 mB version. users on CM11, please download the "output_date_ram-size_msm_fb_3.4-sha.zip"

note: changes in android-4.4 are sync'ed with exp/fb_3.4 and exp/fb_3.4 will be merged as soon as it becomes fully stable.

there was this concept of GPU overclocking, a long time ago...

And, i decided to revisit that...

Till now, kgsl_3d0_pdata was being haxed, which is defined at compile time "static struct kgsl_device_platform_data kgsl_3d0_pdata = {", but actually, the frequencies are being fixed up during init, called in board-pico.c. it was on seing a msm7x25a_kgsl_3d0_init() in pico_init, that I saw this.

So, until now, GPU overclocking was not touching the actual frequencies being used.

attached below, 422_mB, protou msm_fb, test if there is some improvement (consider using apps for this?) and test if there is any noticeable changes in ui. also, this is mainly stability checks.

download: http://d-h.st/4jq

where to check for clock rate:
Code:
Select Code
shell@pico:/sys/devices/platform/kgsl-3d0.0/kgsl/kgsl-3d0/gpuclk
gpufreq: 192000000
busfreq: 200000000

Fb_3.4 kernels bootanimations lag at ~0,5 fps on my phone, w6.

No issues for me with this kernel. I also feel a very slight improvement in the UI. The frequency of the GPU is same as in your post. I see only 411 mB userspace RAM. Using w5.

But battery is still disappointing. It doesn't drain till I use it once. But once I wake the phone, battery level drops no matter I use the phone or not. I also noticed that checking uptime from terminal still reports that the phone went into deep sleep.
