OpenEclair is a community ROM based on the AOSP 2.1 source code (with lots of Cyanogen mixed in).

The goal of OpenEclair is to bring to the community a fast and stable Eclair 2.1 ROM, with contributions from numerous ROM developers.

Wes and Chris have decided they are working toooo much on Android stuff when we could be making money otherwise. Every $1 keeps us motivated!

It's about time. Great idea. See if Shafty and Jubeh want to help out. They've done a lot for Eclair 2.1.

ctso, you're one hell of a guy. The community here is indeed segmented, and I really like what you're doing with this project. We need someone with the drive to bring people together, and you're doing just that. Kudos to you, sir!

I dont think any dev is excluded.
Im sure if anyone wants to help they will be happy to receive the help.

I for 1 am really glad to see this occur.
Over the past few weeks the development on Eclair has been amazing but the problem has been they all seem to have different features or lacking of features/speed & stability.

I am really looking forward to seeing what grows out of this.

Ummm...what are you saying?? Haha you have no clue :p
Exactly what Chris said. Everyone is welcome to contribute. If you want King's ROMs (he isn't one for joint releases) then he has a 2.1 ROM available on XDA. Personally, I would love to see all the developers get involved with this project. That is what this ROM is trying to accomplish.

Yeah that would be great if the devs can squash their hatred for one another lol..too much. Anyways, but yeah if they can settle their differences then that's great.

They should all just Hug It Out.. (Jeremy Piven, Entourage)
