You can definitely share my tool in your thread, thanks for asking first and including the link to the original thread. If you want after I finish finals (Next Friday), I can help you create an all in one package that includes your working driver and my tool. Also let me know when you have the thread up, so I can add it to my list I am creating of threads and tools that include Minimal ADB and Fastboot :good:.

Once again echoing what demkantor said, make sure you have the correct driver for your Nexus 7 (2013) installed on your computer, the latest Google USB driver can be downloaded from here. Additionally make sure that you have authorized adb access on your computer and device (There should be a popup on your device that says authorize your device, the first time you plug it into the computer, if not toogle adb debugging off and then on again and re-connect the device to your computer and the popup should come up).

I want to say how thankful I am for this. As myself I only use ubuntu but my wife use that. So I finally set out to figure out how to get adb/fastboot running on win8.1. I was not looking forward to it as I'm not familiar with Windows at all. I decided to Google something before installing sdk's an everything then bam I found your TOOL in it an within 4 mins she is up an running flashing on win8.1 zero issues. Great ????

I have been following this thread for a good while, have been running win7 on my lap top. Just picked up a surface pro. Was looking to get set up with adb and fastboot on win 8.1 pro.
Same result....awesome.

Thank you to CONAN TROUTMAN and the rest of the XDA writers for featuring this on the portal on June 12, 2013 :)!

Your first item refers to ADB Debugging. I checked Developers Options and all I can find there is USB Debugging (which I've already set on my device).
Is there an option of ADB Debugging or setting USB Debugging is enough?

Nice setup which helped out a lot with recent chaos on a Moto X :good:
There were times while using Moto X Toolbox it had no DOS window open and adb wasn't available like toolbox said so just clicking on this Minimal ADB icon was nice to have in getting some adb commands done quickly. Thanks

Soft brick/possible bricked device

Hello, this was just the tool i was looking for, since i'd like to reboot my phone to recovery mode.
I have a Note 3 SM-N9005 variant and recently flashed MIUI ROM after long time use of C-ROM which worked great.
So, today i decided i really hated not having an option of changing the DPI with Miui ROM so i decided to change it my self manually by going to /system -> build.prop and changing the dpi to 220.
How ever, after changing the permissions to RW obviously and saving the file, i restarted the phone to see the effects. But the phone never booted. It just shows: Kernel is not seandroid enforcing,
Set warranty bit: Kernel

This is just something Note says when flashing custom rom. But this is the point where it gets stuck. It goes no further. The screen goes blank.
No button combination helps, like: Power + vol up for recovery... I was hopping ADB or fastboot would help me with that but device is not found.

Is there any idea to share?
I am kinda freaked out...
//
edit: nevermind, i managed to boot recovery. Cheers

Thanks for this app btw :)

Unable to access root privillage, although Rooted !!!

My Moto-e XT1022 is rooted, having SU and I am able to use all Root apps like TBkp, Link2SD etc which successfully get root access. I am able to use ES/Root Explorer to edit/delete/add /system files. I can also install apps using "adb install" commands to /data/app.

Now problem is when I try to use "adb push" to install an app or file to /system it fails, and the reason is as mention in below cmd log:

C:\.android>adb devices
List of devices attached
ZX1B326H4P device

C:\.android>adb root
adbd cannot run as root in production builds

C:\.android>adb remount rw
remount failed: Permission denied

I am using all this stuff connecting device to a windows XP PC having minimal adb & fastboot setup in c:/.android
It seems likes connected device reloads (adb reloads) as i give "adb reboot" command. and it fails to mount system as RW.

Dear Friends please help me on this.
(Besides I am not new to adb fastboot stuff and was using this with all success for years in past. Any step to correct this issue is welcomed.)

Thanx in advance !!!

That's what I thought, changing the original post to read either USB debugging or ADB debugging depending on the ROM.

    Introduction

ADB and Fastboot are arguably two of the most indispensable tools used when working with Android devices. If you really want to modify, debug, and tweak along with their countless uses in rooting, and other procedures ADB and Fastboot are a must for any Android device owner. Typically if you want to install ADB and Fastboot you have to download and setup the Android SDK (If you really want to learn about Android Development I highly recommend downloading and installing the full Android SDK from here), but this can be unnecessary for people who just want to install ADB and Fastboot. To simply the process I created a windows installer that will install the latest version of ADB and Fastboot for you quickly and easily. The total installation of Minimal ADB and Fastboot is around 2 MB in size (Compared to the 90+ MB size of the Android SDK Tools, and 425+ MB size of the complete Android SDK) making it very lightweight.

    Features

    • Easily Install ADB and Fastboot with a simple to use installer
    • Lightweight, total installation around 2 MB in size
    How to Install

    Prerequisites
    • Your device is plugged into your computer
    • You have USB Debugging enabled under Developer Options (Note: This may be listed as ADB Debugging on some ROM's)
    • You have installed the necessary drivers and your computer is recognizing your device

    1. Download the Minimal ADB and Fastboot setup.exe from here
    2. Follow the Installers instructions and select where you would like to install Minimal ADB and Fastboot too (For simplicity I choose to install it to the Desktop)
    3. After you have chosen where to install Minimal ADB and Fastboot too select whether you would like to create a Start Menu Folder or not for the instalation
    4. Once you have chosen where to install it to and if you want to create a Start Menu Folder select the install option
    5. After the Installation Wizard has completed you can select to start Minimal ADB and Fastboot
    6. You can also start Minimal ADB and Fastboot by navigating to the Start Menu Folder you choose to create during installation or the desktop shortcut you choose to create and selecting Minimal ADB and Fastboot
    7. You should now see a command window open, with the command window open you can now issue ADB and Fastboot commands to your device

For more information on issuing commands to your device using ADB and Fastboot I would recommend taking a look at this guide on ADB and this guide on Fastboot.
