I can't turn off my phone. Everytime I switched off the phone, it switched on again.

You said that you wiped system and caches - Did you Factory Reset while in recovery?
What I'd do is - Factory Reset - Wipe system and caches - Flash Rom and Gapps - Reboot - And like otisman said - give it a few minutes to rebuild caches (android is upgrading) and (starting apps) - You should see both of those processes happening during boot after flashing a Rom

Its very impressive. I only seem to be getting 2-2.5 hours screen time roughly through the day under normal usage and by midnight battery is dead.

Your expertise would be appreciated
You could just get a extended battery haha just saying :P Anker 6400 95% brightness and still 60% left.

But kidding aside it does seem a bit low on normal battery I at least got 2hrs at 50% at least. Try some tweaks undervolt by -25mV at least and use greenify (Donation version) and sleep every possible app you think is not important if that fails maybe a new battery (normal size).

Hey guys I know a couple of people were having trouble with the proximity sensor during g phone e calls a few versions back and it seems it's happening to me as well. I can't turn on the screen during a call and would have to wait until the party hangs up. Anyone has a fix for this issue or just a way to disable the sensor entirely during a call

Yeah force turn on screen after call. That solves half of my problem. I still want my phone to be on during a call. Is there an option to disable proximity entirely
