Just got a warranty replacement for mine. I'll be uploading a rooted (and hopefully unrooted) nandroid backup soon of the stock system. A side note, hunting down tr1.apk is tricky now.

I managed to find one myself, but thanks for the offer. I'll be making 2 nandroids, since there's not much file size difference. Not making a third one for 100MB savings when the file's still 1GB... In other words, don't expect a "debloated" one from me It's hard enough remembering which one has the current set of backups since I have to do a serious shuffle to restore the broken one.

1) make sure data backup works on new one
2) put backups of the stock rooted one on the old phone
3) flash SuperSU
4) reboot into OS, restore stock recovery
5) unroot via SuperSU
6) Reboot into recovery, factory reset again...

EDIT: Just note that neither TR2 nor TR3 work for our device.

Cool Padfone S

Hey guys, I know this isn't the PadFone S section. But As XDA don't currents have an "S" specific section and the handsets are pretty much he same i thought i would put this here. So i wanted Root on my "S" and after reading the thread i thought "Im pretty sure it will work" So i jumped on in at the deep end with my 2Hours old PadFone "S" hoping for the best. And.............TowelRoot V1 i can confirm works with the Padfone S also. I Haven't seen any one else post about the PadFone S Root and im sure people will inevitably want to do it when more and more people get their and on it but will likely be apprehensive due to there not being much out for the S yet. Hope it helps some one.
