I have tried and found one solution, infact a tedious and long process but it worked for me and resolved the apps vanishing issue.
hope this can help you too. I have followed this process, installed many apps, some directly installed on SD Card and some apps I manually moved to SD Card.
Then I restarted the phone several times and was happy to see the apps are still existing visible and running.
I am really very very happy now coz my Iris X1 is at full swing now.
I was in love with this phone but was very unhappy with the apps vanishing issue, which is resolved now of course might not be permanent solution but with a work around and a bit long process too.
So now let me tell you what I have done.
I have used 3 applications existing android forums to help fix this issue. I am not sure which one worked but it worked for me.
1) Rooting with the help of vRoot
This is a windows application. download install on laptop/system. Then connect you phone to system and run this app tp root your phone. Detailed steps available in below link.
2) Fixing the SD card issue on Kitkat
Some or all of our phones might already have a fix for this issue which was created by KitKat, but still I ran this app again to make sure this is resolved. Detailes steps below.
3) Change SD card to internal using root external to internal SD
I had a 32 GB SD card, I have placed it and swapped the external SD with internal. Below link has details steps.
Now I restarted the phone, then installed the apps and restarted the phone again and apps are back.
Note: Please be patient for a minute as it takes time to mount the SD card and to read the apps from SD card and display.
Please let me know if this worked for you and if yes please press thanks button.
