You have the option to enable pocket mode (proximity sensor), or to wake on notification.

you can also choose which apps will display notifications.

I'm not sure that I understand what you mean about the quick-tiles.
There are generally two sets, one you can get to by swiping the notification shade down and hitting the square in the upper right corner. But there is another set that you can normally set to display when you just pull the shade down, and you can either "link" them to the list that is in the upper right, or lay them out as you wish. I generally have wifi, battery and brightness in this list to display with just pulling the shade down.

Thanks for the tip on the lockscreen...

He's referring to the action tiles in notification panel that typically come on cm based ROMs. You can either set custom Acton or linked layout in notification settings.
@desteele slim does not have that, BUT, there's a nifty little app called power toggles that will put them back up there for you. Also you can play with slims "notification shortcuts" which I've come to like better than the action ribbon.

I ususally don't do this (post without searching) so I apologize

I'm on 4.4.2 Slim (build 3 official for i9100) using Render Broken kernel on my i777. Its great but I'm due for a re-flash

I want the most stable option so I won't have to bother with it for a few more months. Do I stick with slimkat? Do I grab the latest official/stable i9100 SlimSaber with the appropriate Shift kernel? Or should I flash one of these i777 builds?

I suggest slim 7.0, available in the download repository. These are built from official source, unedited. They just aren't built by the official build-bot.

I777 slimsaber is built from the same source as i9100 slimsaber.

Either way, you can't go wrong, and there's no benefit to flashing the i9100 versions.

Others are welcome to chime in with their stable slim recomendations.
