Sorry to be so short, but it's a simple answer.

No.

There are 3rd party UIs out there (SPB Mobile Shell, PointUI) that offer the ability to create different tabs, but they're obviously not Sense.

came across those, but as you said, its not sense.

shame that no one figure out how to add applications into the tabs
