Hi.

Thank you for posting this solution. I'm sorry for the questions but I am not as experienced and need to confirm a couple of details.

I am currently using FoxFi and have had to put in a password for the lockscreen and now other options are grayed out.

When you talk about going to:

google.com/android/devicemanager and locate your phone.
2. Click "Lock" and chose a new number password.
3. Type the new password on your phone and it will unlock.
4. Now it should let your change the lockscreen to anything, and foxfi will continue to work

When clicking lock and setting up new number password, I assume this is the original number code I put in when first setting up my S5?

Then when I go to my phone, won't I get the lockscreen asking for the password which I had to set up for FoxFi?

Where do I need to type in the new password? (is this the new number password?)

Thank you for your help!

Appreciated.

When you click lock from device manager type in 4 digits then next time you turn screen on phone it will ask for those 4 digits then go to lockscreen unlock pattern

NOTHING I TRY WORKS !!! Just got my S 5 today. Rooted, restored appz from old phone installed paid version of foxfi... I set foxfi pin ... I tried 30 bad pins and 50 bad pins ... go back in to set encryption in security and all are greyed out except password. I tried the lock from on-line method with the same results .... they are all greyed out except password

Nobody has any other ideas? I drive a truck with this in a cradle and really need to be able to just swipe to unlock.

Instead of messing with foxfi just install Safe Strap Watch "Verizon Galaxy S5 Safe Strap Recovery Install and Overview" on YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5d-cP...e_gdata_player then you can install a rom which already has the tether provisioning checks removed so you'll be all set to tether without having to worry about anything else. If you want to stay close to stock just install Beans stock/rooted rom ★[Rom][G900VVRU1ANCG][4.4.2] Stock Roo… | Verizon Galaxy S 5 | XDA Forum
