You mean he pointed his Ide at the relevant repository and told it to compile? Lot of effort.
I don't know if you have ever compiled anything before but just getting the repositories and compiling isn't always the case. There are still things that has to be done before that step can happen. Trust me I know. So before you start criticizing someone over just doing that then why don't you trying it for yourself and give back to the community like he was trying to do.

How is just compiling three different ROMs and not adding anything to their development contributing? And yes I have compiled in the dim and distant past.

Because not all sources will work completely with the sources you need. I am about to start compiling slimkat, am I going to change anything? Not unless someone posts a bug they are having. All trees pretty much come from the same person for that phone. Others will fork them and add their own things to them but that isn't allows the case. And if someone didn't compile the build and upload it then there would not be that type of ROM. Anything is always considered contributing. Even if it is just uploading something someone requested.

I appreciate the compiling as I don't have the knowledge to do it, and currently don't care to learn, but enjoy being able to check out the new and exciting stuff.

Can't I just flash this over the current cm11 rom? Its the same base and should just add the difference which is setting features... I remember doing this in the S3/S4 days [emoji4] [emoji4] [emoji4]

    About Carbon

CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. Please feel free to look at, build, and use the code on CarbonDev GitHub. and on our Gerrit CarbonDev Gerrit.

We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.

Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.

Credits: All credits go to garwynn, elelinux & tdm for bringing up the tree. Cheers guys.
