Yeah I enabled USB debugging, Athough in previous android handsets there is a notification to say phone is connected to pic in debugging mode. On this occasion it just says commented in mtp mode.

Your phone is too old for this method. Please try different methods, see for example here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...1&postcount=15

Tried to run this on Win8.1 for Xperia M2,
the tool stopped at "creating vm <loljavasucks>" and it doesn't do anything more
I don't reply PM if the answer is on the forum.

I am using a z2 tablet with the latest firmware and running into issues. I make it all the way to the end of the process, pass the cleaning stage. I then get a message saying checking to see if machine is rooted, I then get a message saying machine is not rooted.
I am pretty sure the Z2 is rooted as it has been confirmed by root checker basic and I updated the binary on superSU with no problems. I am trying to install the sd fix but I get a red screen saying ( error update failed, platform.xml file could not be updated) Any ideas why?

Default worked like a charm

Thanks a lot - the guide at the top was not only easy to use, but worked flawlessly on my Xperia Z2 tablet.
Initially I was concerned about updating to 420 but that didn't create any problems.
Thanks again
