Any ideas?
I have the same issue here. I'll try to use the .kl and .kcm files from the other topic and let you know if it worked.

OK so I understand that for a wireless 360 control to work, I need the dongle but what about a wired USB 360 control, will that work?

DEVICE: HTC One (T-Mobile)
ROM: United SSA v1.0.0 (Official TMOUS Sense 6)
RECOVERY: TWRP 2.7.0.0

I just picked up a used Fire TV off my local Craigslist today super cheap and figured I'd try a few controllers.

1. MOGA Pocket was not found.
2. Afterglow wireless PS3 controller works, USB receiver plugged into the Fire TV and the controller worked right away required no additional steps.
3. Afterglow wired 360 controller works, required no additional steps.

So I decided to pick up one of these nes30 controllers to compliment a wiimote/classic controller for playing roms and it is quite the nice controller. It connected perfectly from the KFTV launcher no weird settings to change. It acts like a normal game controller just without the analog sticks. It has worked perfectly with everything I threw at it.

I picked one of these up, but I haven't been able to pair it with my FTV because it prompts me for a PIN that I couldn't enter without an external keyboard. After typing the PIN, it still doesn't connect. Do you get prompted for a PIN? I wonder if my NES30 is just on an older firmware.

Nope, I just went into the fire tv game controller screen and choose to connect to a controller and it came up as the nes30 or some such. After clicking connect it was just connected. I would check to see if you have the latest firmware on your nes30, my fire tv is on whatever the latest rootable firmware is.

Which mode are you trying to pair it in? Because there are different connection modes depending on how you start it. When I first got mine I could only get it to pair by holding Start and A which puts it into iCade mode I believe, but with the most recent firmware I can connect with just start, which is the optimal way since it allows you to natively use the D-pad and buttons in the FTV GUI. IIRC pairing in iCade was only possible after sideloading both settings.apk and an app called "Bluetooth Pairing".

If you're going that route, hold start and A and then run the bluetooth pairing app. Run a scan and then select the NES30 in the app. It will give you a bunch of kanji that says who knows what. Then go into settings.apk and try to pair it.This might take a few tries but it eventually should connect and stay paired.

Really though, try updating the firmware. It fixed all of my complaints about the controller and turned it into my favorite controller ever. It even auto pairs now when I turn it on and off.

And in case you're wondering, don't bother with the 8bitdo android app. I haven't been able to get it to work at all.
