This is the thing to do, as ROMs may have issues on flashing sometimes. Then if they dont boot up, you cannot transfer a new recovery to the sd card. hence always keep a few versions of the recovery on your phone.

I think the TWRP is more easier and more intuitive to use

Depends on user preference. I prefer CWM and its derivatives like PhilZ recovery. Feels easier to me and just that I like it, not that I don't like TWRP, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Recovery won't make much of a difference with things.

So, Installed the ROM on my N7100 today. Everything works great as expected. However, I seem to have an update of Google Play Services pending. That one downloads, but refuses to install. The error message says my device is not eligible for the update and that I should contact the device manufacturer to clarify it.

Any idea how to circumvent this one?
