Ahh, OK, I never used encryption but that makes sense. Sounds like you will have to wait untill the stock NI2 tar comes out so you can flash the NI2 firmware from NCG and then install a NI2 ROM. I'm not sure how that would affect encryption though. Hopefully you can het your phone back working with the NCG tar.

Stupid question. I know it's stated that it doesn't trip the knox counter. Is that still the case with NI2 tar? Also, does the NI2 tar wipe data?

Yes, no Knox tripping.

Yes, flash the NI2 tar, then NC2 kernel to root and then NI2 Firmware or kernel. The OP is updated with the NI2 firmware as well.

Default Pre-updated S5 from Verizon

Can this process be used for a Verizon S5 already on NI2 (4.4.4)? The one I got, the tech updated before I could tell him not to, so it hasn't be rooted before. Can the same process be used using ODIN?

1. Flash the NCG Stock Kernel
3. Root using Towelroot
4. Flash the Ni2 Stock Kernel.

Has anyone done this to a 4.4.4 NI2 phone that was "pristine" from Verizon?
