When I tried deleting the boot and recovery .img from the firmware .zip I got a "corrupt archieve" error with WinRAR.

I assume this is due to the special signing used. If I am S-OFF, would there be any specific compression setting needed to recompress the archieve to .zip or should i make it a .zip with no compression (the "store" setting)?

Extract it... zip it normal and then flash the zip following the directions.

One quick question: I am getting a VZW HTC OneMax in the next day or so from Swappa. It has the 2.16.605.2 update on it. I want to root and S-Off.

Should I first root and install the newly updated Sunshine method and then install the latest OTA and/or ROM?

My instinct is telling me to do that first before updating to latest OTA.

S-OFF first then OTA last.

That is what I thought. Thanks! I downloaded the OTA zip and as soon as phone is received, I will S-off and install.
