Meant to post this earlier but forgot about it. Here's the link to chainfires SuperSU beta thread in case anyone wants to help out with testing the beta releases. Just remember, if you do encounter issues, be as detailed as possible about your device, what you are running and what bugs are encountered. And don't forget the logcat! He can't do much without it.

CF autoroot actually may not work.
But rooting is still just as easy as the first time the S3 was rooted.
Flash SuperSU update zip in recovery. Done! Just don't use v2.01 or v2.02.

Reboot, open SuperSU and let it disable Knox.

Whats wrong with 2.01 and 2.02?
I'm using 2.02 currently with both S3Rx 3.0, and the latest Carbon Nightly.. With no issues that I can see

It loses root if you try to update the binary. Doing so is a required part of the towel root process. All information is in chainfires SuperSU thread.
It may work OK for some root processes, but it's just a lot easier to only suggest using what is known to fully work in all scenarios, than to try to break it down over and over again when it comes up.
