LifeProof for the s5 is out. Why don't you give that a try.

One hour and two meters is far from diving experience.

I guess these guys are coming up with a real solution for your (our) request:

WatershotŪ Smartphone Housings
I hope it comes with a led light because the one on the galaxy 5 is really poor IMHO

no clue about the other products they have, maybe the WP-C1 or c2 could work ??

I've used a similar types of case on my S5. However, it is really difficult to take pictures underwater using the case, as the touch sensitivity under water is practically zero. Above water, no problems, but underwater it just doesn't work well.

I don't know if the Dicapac is different, but it looks about the same as the case I had.

On edit: Just realized, the Verizon S5 does have an option to use the volume key to take a picture. Haven't tried that option yet, but I image that would be the solution to underwater pictures.

ultraproof pouch or frieq pouch can both do the work. Search on amazon, they all have pretty good reviews.
I really don't think it is good idea to use waterproof case on daily basis, hence those cheap waterproof pouches will work pretty well when you really need them!

VisionTech Diving, Shock, Dirt and Snow Proof Case. This one is supposedly good up to 8 metres. Just tried to buy one off amazon US but they won't ship it to Australia

Thumbs up Underwater Housing
I own the iPix Underwater Housing for Samsung Galaxy S4. I'm a PADI qualified Rescue Diver and I used to take it diving with me on wrecks, it is amazing! Waterproof to 56m, easy to use, no obstruction to taking photos, excellent video and sound quality, far less bulky than any standard underwater housing for a normal camera, and at $150 a bargain.....I honestly could not fault this piece of equipment. I would recommend it to anyone!

Unfortunately, my S4 just stopped working one day, so upgraded to the S5, but where the S5 is slightly bigger than the S4, it doesn't fit in the housing and I haven't found one as of yet for the newest model.

If they bring one out though, I will definitely be buying one!

(did put a link here to the iPix, but wouldn't allow me to post it. Just Google 'iPix Underwater Housing for Samsung Galaxy s4' if you want to take a look. PS, sorry for not being completely helpful)

underwater cameras are fun but i am also interested in a good dive safe case for the galaxy
if your diving on a reef close to shore you might be able to use the phone for fish identification provided your close enough to the island for cellular data show me one underwater camera that can do that XD
