This one http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t= but I can't even get fastboot to work. If I can get that to work then I know what to do from there.

Running into the same problem with fastboot. I just clean installed a win8.1 laptop & desktop and now cannot use fastboot on either. Adb commands work fine.

I think my problem is the PC's are not seeing the phone correctly when it is connected with fastboot usb.
Device Manager shows "Unknown USB Device (Device Failed Enumeration)"
But when the phone is in recovery or booted regularly, I see 'Android Device' show up in device manager. This is completely gone when in Bootloader.

I saw a posting about someone who installed PDAnet and that seemed to put good drivers on. I tried with no luck.

Has anyone else run into this or have any ideas? I have a feeling it's driver-related on the M$ side...

Can't see nothing. What's the version of the radio?

Just flash Santos firmware zip in recovery. It has the newest kitkat radio and no need to do it in fastboot.

If your trying to flash a specific older radio I made some flash zip that you can flash in recovery. For the kit kat radio though I would recommend flashing the newest firmware

You can't flash radios through recovery, has to be done in ruu mode via fastboot

Wrong....you can. I have the latest and last 3 radios on a zip I made and I can flash them in recovery. I've been back and forth testing what's the best radio in my area.

I made some flashable zips for the radios. Flash them in recovery. NEVER flash the same radio on top of each other. I flash back and forth between radios to see what gives me the best results.

2.04 Radio: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4eis1umm89hu1ha/dlx_baseband_1.01.01.0110.zip

2.06 Radio: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bz4ikvlgur05qu9/dlx_baseband_1.01.04.0308.zip

3.06 Radio: https://www.dropbox.com/s/oyoo3lbxi6kemxd/dlx_baseband1.01.01.1112.zip

4.09 Radio (Latest - Would recommended being on the latest firmware): https://www.dropbox.com/s/kjbobkihlf3x9d0/dlx_baseband_1.02.01.0207.zip

Thanks so much! I read a post in the viper 4 thread that said we couldn't do that but I think they may have been talking about firmware or something I dunno. I'm gonna give these a try!

I would still like to get fastboot working though

Welp, I ended up having to find a workaround. After many attempts to get fastboot working with windows 8.1 and failing, I threw in the towel and called in Linux.

I made a bootable USB disk using a 4gb flash drive, Linux Mint Cinnamon x64 & Lili USB Creator:
http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php
http://www.linuxliveusb.com/download

Once booted into Linux Mint, I used the post from @bashar from here:

"•First, remove any rules you already set up for your Android Device (If any), they'll be very obvious if you look in /etc/udev/rules.d/

sudo ls /etc/udev/rules.d/
•Now, open an editor for the rules at /etc/udev/rules.d/99-android.rules:

gksudo gedit /etc/udev/rules.d/99-android.rules
•Now, paste all of the rules below:

•Save and close the file.
•Change the file permissions:

sudo chmod a+r /etc/udev/rules.d/99-android.rules
• Now, unplug all Android Devices...
• Restart the uDev service:

sudo service udev restart
• Kill and restart adb:

adb kill-server
adb start-server
•Done... you should now be able to work with a device from almost any manufacturer. Plug your phone in to test. "
********************************************************************************************************************************************************************
BUT when I went to run adb, it said I did not have it installed and gave me a command to install adb (can't remember exactly what it was). I installed adb and also fastboot.

Then I plugged my phone & comp into usb and VIOLA - fastboot works!

For the heck of it, I ran through the Lili setup again and added persistant storage. Then I went through all this again and put the 4gb flash disk away somewhere safe - so that if I ever need fastboot again, it's ready to go :)

-Note: If you run into issues with fastboot command, type 'sudo ' before the command (no quotes).

Linux will also need to recognize any network connection you have on the physical machine - and you will need to connect to the internet to get adb & fastboot libs installed initially.

Ever since I got windows 8.1, fastboot won't recognize my phone either. I'm on the 3.06 firmware and want to flash 4.09

I'm in CA and the 4.09 radio gave me worse LTE and reception. The 3.06 radio has been the best for me.

Would someone be kind enough to reupload these? I updated to the latest and i can't get a consistent signal at all. I need to try other radios.

Thanks and I'd greatly appreciate it. Also to confirm, i just have to boot into recovery to flash these correct, no need for fastboot.
