Ah good point. What version of odin was used in the failed attempt

3.09. Downloaded from this thread.

Re-downloaded no-wipe from different mirror; flashing for 3rd time total. In the meantime, happy to take suggestions. Couldn't get past PIN-protected lockscreen because of repeated acore error. Can't type fast enough.

B4 flashing. Uninstall safestrap. It will flash no problem. With SS installed it will take a few or several attempts but will work eventually. Store your SS app on extsdcard to reinstall after flash.

Hadn't thought about using a different USB port. If this attempt fails, will try. Try. Try again. Or will sleep on wet couch in hated neighbor's basement with a diseased dog. Wife's work phone.

Hook up the phone to pc B4 opening odin. Seems to read USB port quicker. Also make sure you have Samsung drivers installed*

Being that the phone is a work phone, is it controlled by the corporate IT department? Is it knox-ing you out (not the boot knox that identifies if you tripped it, the knox in the gui)

Used no-wipe to revert from NG6 to NC5 after repeated random reboots. Now can't get past unending android.process.acore errors. Please help!

I tried this for a friend today and got the same as you.

To get the phones pin in I click ok on the first 3 force closes, then use the power button to turn the screen off then on. At this point it let me enter the pin every time, but right after more acore crashes.

Then let phone redownload ng6 ota and let it run, back to ng6 but at least without acore crashes.(this phone rebooted itself like 10 times before the ota was finished downloading)

Tomorrow I will just pull /data from the phone because the friend did not want a factory reset, but does want back to NC5 because with the new software the phone keeps rebooting on her.
It will be a pain to select "install now" for the ota because of the persistent popups of acore crash.. but it's doable. I did it here.

To all:

I get a lot of messages about no-wipe resulting in error messages when downgrading from NG6 to NC5. This is to be expected, you can't expect everything to just work out great when downgrading from a newer version to older, and you guys should be using full wipe anyways to get rid of data errors. If keeping your data is that important to you, then I suggest backing up to your pc first.

P.S. Be thankful you can even downgrade in the first place

I'm attempting the rollback using the Full Wipe method. Is it normal for Odin 3.09 to sit saying <ID:0/005> SetupConnection? Is this something I just need to wait out or should it be doing something more?

It just said Operation Failed. Am I supposed to put my phone into Download Mode when doing this? My build number is K0549H.I545VRUFNG6. Do I use MK2?

edit: Got it. Thanks. Phone is back to the previous OS version and I'll never download another update without doing some serious research first.

If I use the no wipe on mk2 will it upgrade like doing an ota. I need to upgrade my phone that's rooted but don't want to go all the way to ng6 or wipe my phone and apps.

For those of you having Odin failed messages then make sure you are running the app in Administrator mode. Right click on Odin and open as Administrator. Just a random thought...

DO NOT FLASH IF YOUR ON MDK AND WISH TO RETAIN YOUR CUSTOM RECOVERY! THIS WILL REMOVE THE LOKI EXPLOIT!

This is a new update for SCH-1545 taking users to VRUFNC5. This is the stock factory image. Also, If you need to go back to stock for whatever reason and this Odin tar doesn't work I suggest using the VRUFNC2 factory image from sextape instead.

For the sake of simplicity, I've also included a mirror to the MJ7 and MK2 "emergency" Full-wipe Odin tars as well MJ7 Full-Wipe and MK2 Full-Wipe

@Tomsgt made a great video of the process that can be viewed here

    Information:

    1. ROOT METHOD can be found here

    2. Otherwise, Download Odin 3.09 here (Note: Bootloader = BL , PDA = AP , Phone = CP)

    Download: VRUFNC5 No-Wipe SCH-I545_VZW_1_20140330160240_yni63xq6zh.zip
    MD5: 71d1c7ea58d2ba81ccadd965b54a2215

    Download: VRUFNC5 Full-Wipe SCH-I545_VZW_1_20140330160240_8il17ls9o2_fac.zip
    MD5: 8a22dd4a47c2c5f890227fd952657d38

    Directions:

    No-Wipe

    1. Unzip the file and you should have a tar.md5
    2. Select the tar.md5 in Odin under PDA (or AP if using Odin 3.09) and keep Odin's default settings
    3. Click start and wait for it to say Pass!

Full Wipe ( AKA Emeregency Repair)

    1. Unzip the file and you should have a ALL_VZW_I545VRUFNC5_I545VZWFNC5_1151670_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
    2. Select the tar.md5 in Odin under PDA (or AP if using Odin 3.09) and keep Odin's default settings
    3. Extract the PIT file from your phone or Odin tar, also I've uploaded it here just in case.
    4. Put the PIT file in PIT and load the the Odin tar.md5 in PDA (or AP if using Odin 3.09) then click start.

@Surge1223 I'm going to ask to be 100% certain, but I'm on rooted stock MK2..... The no-wipe will allow me to retain root, correct?

    U will lose root.
