Great concept! In theory users can flash a script for a little extra speed when needed then flash another for less speed, more battery.
Will be testing tomorrow.

no flashing it just copies it to the right location and changes permissions for you. then on reboot the script changes the kernel settings, we will be able to set settings unreachable by any other app

Yes, "flashing" was a poor choice of words. "Installing" scripts is better.

Let me not keep everyone waiting.....IT WORKS! I still want to test more tomorrow and send Steve detailed results, but it works. "WOOP WOOP" as the man said.

Hi, is there any collected wisdom about standby battery life?

Before I switched to the OtterX layout, I spent a long time running a (different thread's) ROM that I last updated in March, and had always gotten about 30 days of standby time (not event full Off, real instant-on Sleep). All the OtterX ROMs I've tried including SlimKat (last tried a month ago) trend to about 3 days of sleep, far from 30, even with a barebones install and wifi off during sleep.

I've heard and tried suggestions about greenfiy and other utils that can tame unruly aftermarket apps, but it feels like there's some kernel change that makes all the difference. Have I missed some info about a good fix, or are most people running os many apps that they don't remember a time of getting 30 day sleep?

thanks!
