For best results follow:
1. Create new folder inside my apktool folder.
2. Rename it to "com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox" [Or whatever app you want to theme.].
3. Go back and open android[Or any folder present there] folder and copy apktool.yml and AndroidManifext.xml .
4. Reopen your newly created folder and paste the two file you copied to this folder.
5. Open apktool.yml using notepad++[If you are a Windows PC user like me] and change "apkFileName: android.zip" to "apkFileName: yourfoldername.zip" and save.

Now when you will use apktool to recompile it you will get a .zip file instead of .apk file

And also change the package name in androidmanifest

No, These Theme zips are not actual Apps and so The AndroidManifest.xml does not contains any package name. Its a dummy AndroidManifest.xml

This i noticed aswell

Reason?

Sony stock doesnt allow own custom signed themes on4.4+ (if i recall it does)
But you can only apply a custom theme if your 4.3 rom has been patched by disabled signature verification or superuser mod.

Thats why on existenze it works and on pure stock not

That's because eXistenZ has Superuser mod installed aka patched services.jar in it.. This can be used on any fw with official theme engine..

Hello there , Thanks a lot for this guide , the biggest problem is , making the theme work on unrooted devices , the problem is from Keystore , we need the Keystore that Sony / Green Company Uses in their themes , can you contact them ?
I Have tried simple methods like editing the official themes without touching Assets , it worked but the problem that i need to make my OWN theme not editing other themes and not be able to publish it on Google play .

Again , thanks and hopefully to hear from you soon .

U can publish on Google play, but on the instructions, jusr mention root and superuser mod is needed.. And about the keystore, theming organisations pay to get those.. It has to be certified by SONY..
I tried using a theme from Play as base, just by changing pics inside the apk but many of the assets won't work. Actually it shouldn't.. Anyways lets see if someone can come up with an alternative..
