compare rom features
If this thread is still active?

I have used many roms on xda for my s5830
A year or so ago most were themed stock roms.

True ics, cm9 and later roms killed the ace. It simply didn't have the horsepower.
I never like the sdcard space boost idea, the early versions were unreliable.
Maybe now that faster sdcards are available and F2FS has matured a little, things might be different?
Have you guys tried this? The f2fs should "spread the wear" on the theory.

I recently helped with kitkat (cm11) on a low-end tablet and was surprised with the results.
Its not as fast as froyo was, but quicker than anything else, and the features it brings are great.
Lately cm11 has really matured, do you think it might offer benefits to our ace?..
The stumbling block seems to be with older hardware support, and not enough space.

Of course on the ace, with the small screen, perhaps most of these new features are wasted?
Its a personal choice here...
For me with not so good eye-sight, function and large easy to read text is more important.

I really like "really-dark-slim" with white text on black background, on all apps, and a quick loading and responsive rom.

Perhaps the best/easiest way is how it was done in the past, theme stock roms with new features and ideas?
What do you think?

My favorite preference would be:
  1. 2.3.6
  2. 2.3.7
  3. Ice Cream Sand witch
  4. Jelly Bean
And so on..

The best battery back up I got from both ice cream and stock

The best stability I got from stock (of course )

The best performance I got from 2.3.7

The info is wrong, I got my Galaxy Ace when Froyo was out, it then got updated to Gingerbread. The UI in froyo was actually slightly better than GB.

I agree with you. I installed Froyo on my GB-ace. Lists scroll a lot smoother in Froyo than GB. Unfortunately I got a lot of FC on clean install, so I uninstalled it.
