Gratz. You managed to unbrick it. Then you learnt how difficult it is to fix it. So what... Can't you wait till someone posts the way... It is good for ya.

I'm sure you'll have root on Z2 in August.
Few devs talk about rooting KK and that they already have found root exploits but they can't publish that until August.

Check "root bounty Z1s" in Z1 general section.

I'm quite sure, once when root exploit goes out for that device, Z2 devs could use that to root Z2 LB.

The main problem, for now is that KK isn't rootable, we have to downgrade to JB, root it and then use few tricks from NUT (prerooted rom and stripped ftf (stock kernel)) on Z1.

I also plan to buy Z2 with BL status NO...
I really like Xposed and custom nav bar icons but I've got really good offer for LB device and I'll (probably) buy it...

just need to be patient its only a matter of time

i mean widespread availabiltiy for this device only took off about 2-3 weeks ago and unless im mistaken its not even widely available in USA yet

wait for more people/devs to get their hands on it and im sure someone will figure out a way

it might require going down the embeding root into a FTF, its complicated and i dont pretend to understand it all, but there are some great devs on this site and im sure someone will figure it out sooner rather than later,

My bootloader is locked. And following the Sony steps.. It says it won't unlock.
In device, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. Bootloader unlock allowed says No,
All my favorite apps won't work properly without root.
If anyone figures a way to root it.. I'll give you $100.

You might have already seen this, but I thought I'd post just in case:

Bell Xperia Z2 Locked Bootloader
Hi everyone,

Need experts' advice on how to unlock the bootloader on my Bell Xperia Z2. The bootloader is not unlocked and it will be the first time I will be trying any such thing on my android device. I am just tired of waiting for the carrier to release updates. I went through the thread but since I am new to this game, I would appreciate if anyone could help me with a simple step-by-step guide on how to root my device. Again, the bootloader is LOCKED otherwise I would have followed the guidelines on Sony website which look pretty straight forward.
