When I try and update mine on the app it says it has passed but I am still on TWRP v 2.7 and trying to update to the latest. I am on international HTC M8 - how else can I flash the new version as im having issues with creating nandroids at the moment

Thanks

OK, I know these are noobish questions but for some dumb reason I never really messed with nandroid backups on my previous phones. So my questions are..

If I want to have a good backup in case something goes wrong and I can't boot, bootloop, etc. do I need to backup just boot and system or data also? I restored all my apps from a nand backup but noticed it restored some system data/settings as well so I'm not quite sure about these.

When I do have to use the backup to restore the phone do I wipe system, cache and dalvik first or simply restore over the top? I tried to restore the system but got an error that basically said no system existed and I'm not sure if it was because I wiped everything first or if I had a bad backup.

I haven't found specific answers to my questions so I appreciate the help.

My M8 has the newest version if it matters.

I always wipe system data cache and dalvik before restoring a backup..I like to treat it like a ROM flash
