Awesome thanks. I mainly just wanted to avoid Sense cause it all looked pretty terrible. Especially BlinkFeed.

Anyway, my J One came tonight. Thanks to Sunshine, getting the bootloader unlocked and getting it rooted was super easy.

I decided to try out one of the custom roms posted in the OP. I went with the CM11 one. I was really worried I was gonna run into some big problem, but everything installed great.

Now I can finally dive in and start exploring this thing!

Hey so this is probably a long shot, but is there a way to flash the original recovery back onto the device? I've got TWRP flashed now, but I'm back on a stock build, which I restored from a nandroid backup I made when I first installed TWRP.

Anyway, I wanted to grab the latest OTA update from AU, but it isn't possible as long as I have TWRP installed. I found a thread with a bunch of original recovery files for other HTC One models, but couldn't find anything for the htl22.

You want to get the latest update? Don't you have 4.4.2 already?

I doubt we'll see any more OTA updates from AU for this baby after KitKat.
Will look about for original recovery. You checked out HTCsoku?

No, I bought mine off Amazon and it was still on 4.2.2. I feel like an idiot for not updating it to 4.4.2 before flashing TWRP.

I really like Cyanogen mod, but stock definitely seems to run better.

I was also trying to track down the latest OTA update file, since that would get me up to date as well. HTCsoku has the older OTA files but hasn't posted that one. He still hasn't responded to my email either.

Scottish Vinegar appears to have stock recovery (look for: HTC J One HTL22純正リカバリ)

http://www.scottish-vinegar.com/%E5%...1%8D%E5%A0%B4/

File resides at a MediaFire link. I have downloaded from this blog before when I first rooted last year, but can't recall if I used this particular file or not.
Good luck pushing it to your phone! (and yes - big "Doh!" about not doing the OTA update before s-off!)

Smile WinDroid Toolkit Support
This appears to be the biggest thread regarding the HTC J One, so I wanted to let you guys know that I recently added support for the J One in my WinDroid Universal Android Toolkit. I hope that it will help some newer users.
