Yes, but I can't find how to fix it. Everything regarding WEBP in frameworks of my AOSP rom and the MIUI I tested is the same.
I will keep trying when I have time though.

It seems webP is supported in jellybean. {transparency from 4.2.1+}.Tried latest play store (not material design) on mtk6589 chip running 4.1.2 jb. No problem. But I have same chip with 4.2.1 and borders are still transparent/black.

When I contacted GravityBox dev, here is his reply at http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=8437

And did any Sony Xperia C user experience this issue? If not, then I think we can copy the libraries from their Xperia C to our phones.

I'm unsure about this. I have this issue both on my Lenovo Yoga 8 (MT8389) and Huawei G700 (MT6589).
