I suspect that as long as I can root it, then Xposed should work fine. As far as I know, the 20g update is still KitKat 4.4.2

I'd recommend disabling the modules before updating.

Had to do a factory reset after the update, but all is working. ROOT with Stump, install recovery with Autorec, then flash bumped TWRP, Dori kernel, and KK bootloader. Gotta reload all my apps and do my whole setup again, but I'm happy to be on the latest with everything working. Xposed is working as well.

I don't know to factory reset it would have to be for a major update. My phone is working fine so I just disabled modifications for Google Play Services do I don't get the system update notice.

You may not have to factory reset. I do it because I use System Cleaner ROOT to move all updates to system apps to system partition to save space on user storage partition. That is what it doesn't like after ROM update. I get errors all over the place from those apps. If you don't do that with your system apps, then you may not have to factory reset.

Well I tried and got stuck in a recovery boot loop. After restoring everything I'll wait to JB until I update again.

After putting your phone into download mode (holding volume up while plugging in usb), go into the options menu and selected Upgrade Recovery. You will need to have the latest LG USB drivers installed. Unfortunately, the Mac drivers do not support software upgrades. Towelroot does not support D80120G yet.

For D80120E: I lost root and recovery when I updated, but was able to re-root with towelroot. Here's a link to their website. Then I installed and ran AutoRec to install TWRP, then flashed Cloudyfa's kernel v1.3 to enable Knock Code.

You can also download 4.4.2 through the PC Suite. Thanks elzero26 for pointing this out!

If you are having issues with updating your phone with the Support Tool or the PC Suite, you may have to update it following the directions from the link below.

Alternate method for updating software

As always, flash at your own risk.

After putting the phone into download mode, how do I point the software at the update I downloaded separately. Is there a folder it needs to be dropped into?

You would use the alternate method if you wanted to use the software you downloaded. Easiest method for me was to use the method using the LG Mobile Support Tool. The download shouldn't be more than a few minutes, at least it wasn't for me when I updated. I even forgot to put the phone in download mode and it automatically put it into that mode when I started the update.

Ahh... Gotcha. Well the mobile support tool doesn't seem to have the update for my phone and I'm steadily getting more irritated by the constant notification pop-up for the update.... Even after deleting the update off my device
