Hi,

I am unable to flash this recovery on my moto e.
I have an unlocked bootloader and the recovery flashes fine. I do get a mismatched size message though.

But if I try to reboot into recovery, the phone just turns itself off.
If I try to boot recovery through fastboot using
Fastboot boot recovery.img
The phone is stuck on the Moto logo.
I am on 4.4.4
What should I do?
Thanks in advance!!

Cheers!!

@xperiafan13 You are welcome to add this to your original post if you would like
Figured I would compile the latest version (Tested and working as expected) of Clockworkmod Recovery for our Moto E available from here:

CWM 6.0.5.1 Condor

Credit to percy-g2 for his device tree, vendor tree, and kernel source:

Everything is working as intended when I tested it and it's fine to flash.

I've got the same issue.
I believe I've tried every recovery posted on this forum for this phone (both CWM and TWRP). None of them work. During flashing, the phone always shows "mismatched partition size (recovery)"
Booting directly to any of the recoveries here also does not work (i.e. with fastboot boot recovery.img)
Flashing my stock recovery works fine.
The stock recovery is 10,526,720 bytes. The various recoveries listed on this forum different sizes and always smaller.
My bootloader is obviously unlocked.
I am using a xt1021 running Android 4.4.4 (that's Motorola's latest firmware version: Blur_Version.21.12.53.condor_retu.en.US)
Can anyone here confirm that this recovery works on a xt1021 Moto e? and if so, can you confirm that you can flash it while running the latest firmware from motorola?

I have a XT1021 here, flashed with the latest retail 4.4.4 firmware for my region (and twrp).
fastboot boot cwm.img doesn't work neither for 6.0.4.9 nor 6.0.5.1 - I get a split screen with the green M logo in the top half, some bootloader messages in between, and nothing more.
Running the "fastboot boot" command withthe twrp (2.7.2.0) image, I get the green logo all over the screen - and nothing more. I'm afraid "fastboot boot" won't work at all (with my Linux fastboot, at least)... and I'm a bit hesitant to wreck the device by flashing another recovery (as it's not mine)
Well, no risk, no fun - "fastboot flash recovery" did indeed work with 6.0.5.1 (although there was this infamous partition size error message), and I could boot directly into it from the bootloader menu.
Backup throws an "error while backing up boot image", so I looked in the log:
Code:
mkdir: can't create directory '/sdcard/clockworkmod/': Permission denied
(actually, later inspection showed that the directory exists, with two files in it!) -
and another one
Code:
I:Cannot load volume /misc
(twice).
Rebooting to bootloader, to flash 6.0.4.9 instead (which BTW says "6.0.5.0"...) Same problem.
Going back to TWRP now (which does backups, somehow, but not always right) - issues fixed with 2.8.2.0 it seems
