I installed 2.8.3.0 and tried to take backup. After a while I have a blank screen (like screen saver) but there is no way to open the screen again. This happened several times no matter where I take the backup (internal or external sd). After half an hour or more I reset the tablet by pressing power button 5 to 6 seconds. It boots in the recovery and the backup folder has about 180mb. I'm back to 2.8.2.0 with no problems.

Go to screen settings and disable the screen timeout.
