I have uploaded the Twitter and also EmojiOne (another open source set) emoji pngs, if needed to make additional sets. I tried converting them to TTF myself but i get the "Python int too large to convert to C long" error I can provide the svg files if necessary.

Wow, had never heard of EmojiOne. Somewhat derivative of the Twitter set (and hence indirectly iOS) but that's no bad thing.

Android users would be a lot happier with those than the Google blobs. I'm lobbying Google on the AOSP bug tracker to allow customisable/downloadable emoji sets.

Still don't think they realise how important emoji are to people!

Good news! I managed to make Emoji replacements with Twitter and EmojiOne sets using the existing Kitkat NotoColorEmoji font. Either rename one of them to NotoColorEmoji.ttf and copy to /system/fonts folder, or simply copy to /system/fonts and make the adjustments to fallback_fonts.xml

EmojiOne: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bx0...ew?usp=sharing

Twitter: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bx0...ew?usp=sharing

Hopefully they will be integrated to Emoji Switcher

Awesome

Was wondering how the Twitter set would look on a keyboard but the Emoji One set are even better. Both actually follow Material Design principles, unlike Google's own. I tweeted Matias Duarte asking why and showing him the HTC set, didn't get a reply sadly.

EDIT: EmojiOne file working fine on my HP Touchpad, once I remembered to set the file permissions! Thanks so much for putting these files together

Has anyone got this working on the HTC One M8 with Lollipop on Sense 6? It's not working for me. I switch them, then I reboot but they stay the same.
