Default Can I use prepaid + web2go (T Zone) together?

currently I have a Tmobile prepaid dumb phone and am thinking about buying a nexus one.

I heard that I can use web2go at 9.99 a month for data. Can I use prepaid + Web2go on my new Nexus one? Or I must sign a voice contract to get the web2go?

I'm almost certain that you need a voice plan to get web2go. Doesn't require an actual contract (it can be month to month) though.

Unfortunately N1 is considered to be a smartphone and the web plan starts from $25 + 29.99 talk plan(500 minutes) or talk+text+web $59.99.
Freshest data, today went to talk to the T-Mobile store rep, cuz (Pakistani or India) over the phone customer service sux!!! LOL Hope it helps.

Don't tell T-Mobile you have a Nexus One. Do what I did and use an old Nokia or something to activate, with a web2go plan. Test it out, make sure all works.

Put the SIM in your Nexus, use the internet2.voicestream.com APN (*not* epc.tmobile.com), and you're all good with 'unlimited' 3G for $10 per mo.

If you do this, you can manage to get voice + data at $39/mo + taxes, etc of course. If you want unlimited txt, it'll be $49.

thanks a lot to all of you guys for the detailed info. seems that I need a voice plan to get web2go. Too bad that I don't really need the phone function a lot. But 39$ for both voice and data is not too bad.
