Default nexus one shipping questions...

all right guys. i'm FINALLY going to be joining you guys, i'm ordering my nexus one bright and early at 5am on wednesday. it'll be my first non winmo phone since 2006.

i read somewhere that there could be a bit of a problem if you get your nexus one shipped to an address other than the billing address on your card. is this true? i'm not going to be at work on friday so will need to get it on thursday, so i'm trying to get it shipped to my work address. i think i remember reading that they'll call to verify any alternate addresses... have any of you guys had that be the case? thanks so much, and i am excited!

I was the one that had the phone shipped to an address other than my billing address. It basically added a couple days onto the delivery time. I ordered on a Wednesday and it ended up coming the following Tuesday. I hadn't gotten any confirmation of shipping a day and a half after I ordered, so I called my credit card company in the evening and told them that there was a large order, and gave them the total cost. I woke up to a notice that the order had been shipped.

What I would suggest is that once you're ordering and have the total charge, before hitting submit, call your credit card company and tell them you're buying a phone and give them the exact cost. Also let them know you're having it sent to your work address. That should help...but I don't know if it will for sure. At least it won't cause any slowdowns on the CC company's end.

ah, thanks. i'll be using my check card, i'm thinking i won't run into any problems since it's a check card and not a credit card, right? i do believe i've shipped things to work and not had it be a problem but i can't bring to mind any specific instances...

Doesn't hurt to make the call man... your check card is treated just like a normal credit card. You'll get your phone one way or the other... the question is just how soon do you want it?
