The whole point of this method is to root without tripping Knox, not that it actually matters that much for most warranty returns.

If you flash a custom recovery, Knox will trip next time you boot. If you flash anything non official, same thing.

With this method you flash only official, though old, firmware parts.

No worries, knox really doesn't mean much.

Hello,

I bought the device, and a few days after, I rooted the device with towelroot, and I disabled the update checker.

If I want to update the software, I will loose the root?

Yes you will probably lose root. The only way to update now is to flash via odin as the over the air updates will not work (it will detect that the firmware has been altered and abort).

Doesn't mean that the kernel swap root method detailed here won't stop working, provided it will boot with the old kernel.

I can confirm right now it still works with the very latest version, I doubt that it will once lollipop hits though.
