My folder structure of the partition looks like this:
/initrd.img
/kernel
/ramdisk.img
/data (folder, initially blank)
/system (this is where I copy the stuff in system image to, like app, bin, lib folders)

Then I just adjust grub.cfg accordingly.

I think the screen still stays on. The screen appeared to glow faintly when I was in a completely dark room.

I used PA GApps Pico with proper DPI (the DPI to use is 160).

Libhoudini, I have no idea.
I don't know how to flash either. I just extract the zips, copy them over, then fix permissions.
There's an APK to emulate the flashing procedure I think.

This may help, my relevant GRUB entry (with my folder structure):

Code:
search --file --no-floppy --set=root /kernel
linuxefi /kernel quiet i915.semaphores=1 i915.enable_rc6=7 i915.enable_fbc=1 i915.lvds_downclock=1 i915.force_backlight_pmic=1 root=/dev/ram0 SDCARD=/dev/mmcblk1p1 androidboot.hardware=android_x86 SRC=/
initrdefi /initrd.img
Remove the SDCARD entry if you don't need/use it.

do you know what the flashing utility is by any chance now?
and the download for the 5.0.2 img always says to many people have viewed try again in the next 24 hours....if thats the img your using also howd you get the wifi working on that?

Flashing utility?
I haven't used precompiled images in quite a while now.

In the meantime, I uploaded one with 3.18.8 (3.19 was patched from an older branch, apparently he added some patches that don't compile under 3.19 yet) and Mesa 10.4.5.
Mesa 10.6.0 ended up producing text with missing characters.
