Hi guys,

What about decrypting databases older than seven days (for example two months)?

Is there any manner to recalculate or regenerate the key file from database directly? Any crack method or something similar?

Thanks in advance

decryption works fine for me. Unfortunately recrypting does not. It just said WhatCrypt has stopped.

Any solutions?

Hi, thanks for this great tool!

Anyway, not sure if this is a bug, but after fetching key from the app, it shows up in ES File Explorer, but not when I navigate to the folder from my computer. Similarly, the unencrypted msgstore.db shows up only in ES File Explorer, but not from my computer. But if I rename crypt.key to crypt.txt AND rename it back to crypt.key, I am able to see the file from my computer.

How come?

Everytime I try and open whatcrypt on my rooted device it tell me unfortunately, whatcrypt has stopped. Is there a fix for it. I have it on my non rooted device and it runs without a problem. On Galaxy Note 4 4.4.

For some reason it is not asking for root access on my device

Hello,
my whatsapp version stores chat backups in a .crypt8 file (downloaded this version direct from whatsapp.com). Is it possible to convert this to a .crypt7 file? I want to use WhatsApp Plus and this only takes .crypt7 files.

Hi guys im a total newb please help me as i suspect my wife is cheating on me:

1. i have rooted the note 4

Sounds like you're on the latest WhatsApp version which blocks adb / key extractors.

Workaround: WhatsApp ADB Patch
