Are you sure? I ask you this because I understood from the OP that the 3MinitBatterySettings.apk is no longer required. Or am I miss something ?
To be more precise. In order to install 3Minit from cwm I have to:

1. Add the smali files in SystemUI.apk
2. Put MinitBatteryResources.apk in /system/app
3. Put 3MinitBatterySettings.apk in system/pri-app
4. Flash the .zip file from cwm

Changelog
v3.1(16/05/2015)
Fixed charging issues
Changed theming on paid app

v3.0 (30/4/2015)
Please note:

The implementation of this mod has changed. From now on, you will no longer require the 3MinitBatterySettings.apk to be installed to make this mod work. Instead, you must install the 3MinitBatteryResources.apk included in the download. I have also changed the package name of the free app.

+Download type as zip instead of individual files.

Thank you.

I understood the same thing about v3 but before installing 3MinitSettings I couldn't get the 3Minit icon in app drawer.

I will reword the guide tomorrow, just to be clear I mean if you don't have the app installed it will not SystemUI fc. But app is still needed to control it. It's for people that want to remove the app.

@gharrington mean that in new version you can uninstall setting app without systemui force closed. But if you want to use this mod to change battery icons you can only do by battery setting app.

Go to web view. It doesn't show up in app.
