^Google did a great job with 5.1. Faster and better battery life than kk.

I don't know what you do with your tablet but kitkat is **** compared to lollipop.

It seems everyone's experience varies. Lollipop battery life is awful on both my tablet and phone. I'm thinking about going back to KitKat as well.

For me that was the case with 5.0. But with 5.1.1 it is smooth as butter and no more drain.

I'm on the N7 2013 (WiFi) and my LMY48G was only about 40 MB (I'll verify when I get home, but I remember wondering "Whyanother 5.1.1?" "Why only 40 MB?").

LMY48G is only a small bug fix. Changelog is not available now (AFAIK).
M will be released later, so for that reason another 5.1.1

LMY48G is 5.1.1 r6. It's just a small update that's why it's only 40 MB.
