Sounds interesting could you give me a link for the n8?

Be advised though that once you are using a Samsung KNOX enabled bootloader (like the KitKat 4.4.2 version for the Note 8.0) either of those actions (flashing recovery or ROM) will trip the KNOX flag and void your warranty. Some people have said they were able to root without tripping that flag by using an app that invokes an exploit to gain temporary root and install the required bin files, but I haven't tested that on my N5110 since I always intended to flash custom ROM's and kernels.

Yeah that's exactly what i meant, since almost all custom ROMs come with root anyway. If not simply flash the supersu zip after the ROM and you'll have root. Sorry for not being clearer earlier. I've been running the new bootloader ever since it came out too. Not too concerned with the KNOX flag since I'm not planning on returning it or anything. I think my flag count is around 500-600 right now.

Hi!
I have a Samsung Note 8 NT-5110 (wi-fi only) and I want to root it, but I dont find the specific files for my kernel KOT49H.N5110XXDNK1 only for other specific kernels. Is this really an issue? Root using Odin is quite easy, but on my device with this different kernel Im not finding the file. I never rooted this tablet and I dont even want to change the room because I dont wanna loose some nice Samsung features with S-pen, but rooting is useful for battery drain and some apps.
Thank you!

HI, I have a basic question, hopefully someone will be kind enough to help. I have a rooted N5110, Android 4.4.2
I would like to replace the kernel to fix my s pen calibration. Can I do that without wiping my apps and data?
What is the recommended kernel and the best procedure for installing it?
Thanks

I've been around this thread for a couple of days and have learnt a lot also read all the comments over here so thank u so much for such an awesome job
you were saying that Pac-Man ROM is the best around coz it got the best features from all the other ROMs.. Still the Lollipop for N5100 is not in this thread and i wonder if u can include the download links, which recovery u recommend and some simple installation tips?
