Finally my Flex is working again. Took it to 2 different phone techs yesterday and the 2nd figured out that the partitions had somehow been changed in the update and the phone was trying to boot from the wrong one. The 2nd ROM I flashed while trying to fix things had actually installed successfully but the phone wasn't booting from it. Partitions fixed I went back home and used this guide again to get the stock firmware up and running. Thanks for the guide and the help hyelton.

Just follow the guide and use a kdz file with that version.

Sounds like your flashing a wrong model firmware. Flashing different versions won't cause that but flashing other models will.
