It sounds like you installed the recovery fine. But it also sounds like you may have installed the recovery to your boot partition. That's not the recovery's fault . . .

I ran a test. It must be a cm 12.1 issue. If i go back and restore a sense rom it will boot backup. If restore cm 12.1 it will just boof back into recovery 2.8.7.0

Or, you backed up CM after you'd already flashed the recovery to boot. Try re-flashing CM and see if that works.

Yeah, I did that and it fixed the issue. Some reason cm back up from 2.8.6.0 is not compatable with 2.8.7.0. Thanks for the help!!

I flashes the latest TWRP on stock, rooted, s-off, unlocked 4.4.2, and it just doesn't work. I can go to recovery, but it just says "Entering Recovery" at the top and stays that way. What do I do?

Use version 2.8.1.0, or update your firmware.

Did the kingroot --> sunshine tonight and all went well. I downloaded TWRP from android store, installed it and downloaded the m8 file from the app. It said that the install failed and wanted to boot into recovery mode. I said ok.

My phone is now blank, it's pretty warm, like it is thinking, but totally unresponsive.

What should I do?

Thank you,
Mitch

My phone won't respond to anything I do, so I can't. Any suggestions?
