2) it's impossible to install supersu if towelroot didn't work properly. So if you solve number 1, you'll solve number 2 as well

Have you tried with WiFi connected?

1. When towelroot gave that message, I connected the wifi but it gives the same message.
2. Can I install SuperSU from some place other than Google Play?

1) I don't know how to help you out. Try a full reset or try to flash a new stock firmware with Flashtool

2) I guess you didn't get the point. If towelroot can't write its stuff into the system, then supersu can't work properly. That's the problem

EDIT: before any reset, uninstall your towelroot and try a previous version like this one: towelroot v2

Good luck!

The problem was that towelroot could not connect to the internet. Someone advised me to use a proxy/vpn. I used Psiphon and towelroot connected to the internet successfully. Now my phone is rooted.
Thank you for your dilligence.

Question Next step ?
Hello,
thanks , it works on LT25 (V)!
Now - how can I flash boot.img file , to install cm12 nightly, without usb connection?
I have phone with broken usb port - not possible to use usb connection with pc.
SO, next question is - is it possible to install cm12 , then?
According to wiki, I need to exctract boot.img , and flash it first.
If I skip this step , and boot to recovery, and select zip file with cm12 nigthly - it says that my phone is mint, and this is package for tsubasa.
If I was able to flash whole cwm - it should be possible to flash only boot.img?
thank you!

You can remove the first line in CM12.zip/META-INF/com/google/Android/updater-script
Then the ROM will be flashed without device verification. However, make sure you have the right CM12 file for your phone otherwise it will get bricked that way.
