I've got a very different and very customized galaxy s4. If I install this and it messes something up can it be uninstalled fully so it will be exactly as it was before? It has customizations that can only be done with the DFS cdmatool and I don't want to have to mess with that anymore.

Hi -

I have just come across this app and would like to understand how best to use it. My problem: I'm using a Nexus 4 and my connection drops to 2G too often (too aggressive to drop to 2G even though there is a 3G signal). When I switched my sim into a Samsung SII, I found that my connection stayed on 3G (HSPA) much more.

I want to use my N4 rather than the SII, so I hope this app can help. Can this app help me to stay on 3G more rather than dropping to 2G? If so, which settings should I enable?

I should mention, with my N4 withOUT this app, when I am on 2G and use data (e.g. use browser) the connection does NOT change up to 3G even where I know there is a (reasonable) 3G connection.

PS: is this app still in development?

Why not just set your phone to wcdma only and it will only use 3g?

I have tried setting to WCDMA only and that does work but I do go into areas where there is no 3G signal at all. In which case I have no signal at all. I was hoping this app would somehow force it to stay on 3G for longer but the phone would still drop to 2G if necessary. The SII seems to have a more aggressive means of keeping it on 3G and only drops to 2G if really needed.

What I also noticed with the SII was if I was on 2G, I would still be able to use data (albeit slow) - for example, Google Maps would still work. But with the N4, in the same 2G area it's just not usable (e.g. Maps will say 'not available' or something).

Not had chance to test the app whilst out and about yet.
