First of all:
"Before you start. Where to download files.
Acer site - Firmwares for recovery, drivers for ADB - http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers"

... that's the problem, on the acer's page, opening the OS tab, I'm not able to understand which firmware I Have to download....
The tablet was bought in Italy, I don't know if it's important to know.
I feel so stupid...

I really don't know, you'll have to ask again in that thread, as I don't have driver experience either you're stuck with other people...

Yes. Ask in that thread. There's many guides and we can provide the files, but only in that thread, not here...

Okay, interesting. What happens in the code is the following:

1. It executes something called "dumpsys power" from the shell using adb. The results are printed in your log
2. Then it executes a procedure called "check_device_powered" in which it uses the output of the dumpsys power
3. If it's running on an A1 device (A1-81x, etc.) it will skip checking power, ie. continue the procedure
4. It looks for "mPowerState" If it find mPowerState=0 it will press the power button
5. If it finds mPowerState=3 it will continue
6. But because mPowerState is not in the results of dumpsys power, it thinks the screen is locked.

What happens in step 6 is wrong. It looks like it doesn't work anymore in newer (KK) devices:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2...is-on-with-adb

So... I can change the procedure so it skips looking for the Power State, just like on the A1-devices. You will need to manually make sure the device screen is on and unlocked when running the procedure.

More news soon.

Regards,

Nika.

I have updated the Python script. I did not recompile the .exe as that has not changed for this. You can download the new script:

Received root. But do not put BusyBox. 10 times altered, it is useless. At the beginning produces an error, then continues. And stick it threw, and all possible rights given, alas...that won't mount the internal memory and does nothing to erase or set in the system.
Here is what writes:

Nikagl, maybe even tweak toolkit? Happiness was so close... Have root working properly, but without busybox there is no point in this.

I am not sure what you mean. Mounting system will never work because the device has a locked system. That's why we add root using this horrible procedure by dumping system, modifying it by adding root and then dump it back onto the device. So... what does not work exactly in your system after you added root this way? Also note the procedure is quite old by now, we use old supersu, etc., etc.. In case this should be updated it's fine, but all takes quite a lot of time...

Nikagl, I don't understand why is not possible anything to write/delete to/from /system partition, even if it is remounted on the recording. Because JB had full root and I can erase the system programs. The method (S1_Root-v1.2) is more open than yours, but given the ability to edit system files without a problem.
