Sim locked - how to unlock? via SPL?

i'm not sure about this, so i ask:
when i buy a net/sim-locked G1, how can i unlock the sim to use any card?
i think, this should be dan with hardSPL, but i'm not sure.
Can someone tell me and give the link to a tutorial?

No you cannot network unlock the phone by flashing SPL or radio. Go to a cellphone shop and they'll network unlock the phone for you. Or call tmobile and tell them you are going out of country and they may give you a unlock code.

sim unlock g1 code

Call T-Mobile and request an unlock code.

buy an unlock code from ebay or ask tmobile for one....
insert the sim card for the other network
on boot it asks for the unlock code

et voila

i have a problem with my G1, i made you procedure, but with the new sim, doesnt ask for the unlock code...

how can i fix it.

i dont have the tmobile original sim
