Can I install the kernel and keep ext4 on all partitions?
If so, to install do I have to clean system and data?

thanks in advance

If you're keeping ext4, just flash it. No wipes needed.

Thanks Khaon for helping me to get this working!

Here is a rom I just compiled. If there is interest I'll open a separate thread for it...

Latest Cyanogenmod source (including latest security patches from Google)
Khaon Kernel 3.4.111 branch
Uber 5.4 (both Rom and Kernel)

Nice currently I can't even build myself, so it is nice. In my own opinion master branch >>>>> ALL.

However if you care about extra features it is definitely the way not to go!

Hi David! Thanks to share , how did you built it from source with uber? I am waiting to catch my nexus repaired but I will try by myself. Could you inform me or anyone?

Your kernel master branch or master aosp?
Do you mean that it'll be harder to add features to the 3.4.111 branch? Why is that? Is master cleaner? What linux version is master on?
(By features I mean io scheduloers and governers first.. i've never done kernel dev work, so I'd want to start slowly)

Sure.
If you've never built a rom before, start here
https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Build_for_manta

I added this to my roomservice.xml
http://pastebin.com/K7aMgDB9
(I forked the kernel and changed the defconfig name to get it to build with Cyanogenmod.)

I get the Uber binaries from here
http://uber.oceighty.co/TOOLCHAIN/
and just place them in the toolchain folder (replacing the old toolchains. i keep the same folder name as the old one so that the compilation works easily)

No I mean the ROM, the kernel works with MM or master branch.

IMO the master branch is the best build you can get. But since it is AOSP it lacks of a lot of features.

Am I missing something or does the kernel only have four governors, but there are more listed in first post?
