No he wasn't.
I think i've just made a discovery, Whilst stuck on the TWRP Slash Screen (Which hangs for about 10 seconds then reboots) I have adb access, I was thinking maybe i can do a full wipe via adb but i don't know if 10 secs is long enough. Any ideas ?
If the last FW that you did flash to your device was stock (Odin), then begin to boot your device to Android (it does not matter if you cannot boot to Android properly unless your smartphone is not bootlooping...) and try to reinstall stock FW through Kies (SAMSUNG software)... it will maybe help...

Good luck

Tapatalked from my SM-G903F

PS : IMO adb is useless in your case...

Almost Berlin :)
Okay, that's nice but are we still talking about the issue initially reported by @Diizzayy ?
No, I wasn't - it was more a (detailed) feedback concerning my question and it's answers a few days ago :)

FYI recovery updater 'error 7' can be worked around by deleting 'assert' code from the updater script of the flashable ZIP which is failing for you. I must add that deleting it will allow you to flash it without being sure that the file that you are trying to flash is compatible with your S4 mini variant so be careful...
Ok, good to know - thank you!

About time.

You could add which is the GT-I9190, GT-I9192, and GT-I9195 instead of putting 3G, DS and LTE...

Um, I flash it thru Odin and 'VOL. UP' + 'HOME' and it works. But next time I want to boot into recovery, it boots into "Android system recover (3e)" and I cannot boot into TWRP again.

Why?

If ppl start modding their phone you might at least expect they know which is which...
Because listing which one is which is such a HUGE effort on part of OP...

Because listing which one is which is such a HUGE effort on part of OP...

Because in 1128 posts this question has been asked numerous times?
Because only a few ppl know what phone they have?
Because a simple 20 second Google search is such a huge effort on the part of aspiring modders?
Because the forum is searchable?
Becasue a little self-reliance is such a huge ask?
Nah, it must be indeed because it's a huge effort on the part of the op. ;)

I got your point btw. Hope you get mine.

Why?

After flashing with Odin you have to boot straight back into recovery to make it stick (on some phones), see full instructions in 1st post

I have an Android one device(sprout8) and it has v3.0.2-2.
My question is, what is Meant by this -1/-2 part?
TWRP versioning scheme is like this AFAIK : vA.B.C-X means...

A -> major
B -> intermediate
C -> minor
X -> release counter for the same upstream version of TWRP. A higher number may mean (or not) that new merged commits are included. It is device specific.

If it was listed in maybe people wouldnt ask the question
Because only a few ppl know what phone they have?
That doesnt even make sense
Because a simple 20 second Google search is such a huge effort on the part of aspiring modders?
Those 20 seconds can be reduced to 0 if it is listed in OP
Because the forum is searchable?
Why are you repeating the same thing twice?
Becasue a little self-reliance is such a huge ask?
So are you saying that OP is lazy? I dont agree, I think its just a honest mistake on their part

Nah, it must be indeed because it's a huge effort on the part of the op. ;)
OP problably did not notice.

I got your point btw. Hope you get mine.
Not really, but if wanting to making yourself look cool on the internet makes you happy, so be it

    + v3.2.0-0 (TRYOUTs)

    TWRP is an open source, community project. TWRP development is done by roughly 4 people at this point. TWRP also have a large support community with many people who are willing to answer questions and help people with their devices either through our IRC channel or on forums like xda-developers.

    TeamWin was originally formed to work on porting WiMAX to CM7 for the HTC EVO 4G. After their work on the EVO 4G they wanted to work on a project that would work on more devices than just the EVO 4G and they settled on working on a recovery. Today TWRP is the leading custom recovery for Android phones.

    DISCLAIMER : TeamWin team and myself will never ever be responsible for any damage you do to your device !

    ALL CREDIT GOES TO AND ONLY TO :

    -> TeamWin & OmniROM teams (TWRP tree).
    -> CyanogenMod team (ROM + device + kernel trees).
    -> @k2wl (DS device tree).
    -> TheMuppets team (vendor tree).

    NOTE : i am not affiliated with any of the teams mentioned above...

    THANKS TO :

    -> @F4k (for helping me a lot).
    -> @Dees_Troy (for sharing some of his knowledge with me).
    -> @arco68 (for helping me to restore the brightness control and crypto. features).
    -> @thomson.aa (for sharing one way to fix TWRP booting process for S4 mini).
    -> @alexax66 (for sharing early GT-I9192 TWRP builds which were based off one of mine).
    -> @Xmaster24 (screenshots).
    -> @noppy22 for testing crypto. features out.

    INSTALLATION :

    => Option 1 : your device does not have any custom recovery yet ! Please download the 7zipped .tar.md5 file of your choice below, then flash it through Odin (windows OS).
    => Option 2 : a custom recovery has already been flashed to your device ! Please download the flashable .zip file of your choice below and flash it from recovery as usual.

    BIG ORANGE WARNING : if you are coming from regular / PhilZ CWM or legacy TWRP, then please do prefer the Odin way ! Thank you !

    QUICK ODIN HOWTO : assuming that your Odin installation for S4 mini is OK (thanks @arco68 for this) !
    1. Turn your device OFF.
    2. Press AND hold 'PWR' + 'VOL. DOWN' + 'HOME' buttons.
    3. Connect your USB cable and press 'VOL. UP' button to confirm that you want to enter into DL mode.
    4. Start Odin, uncheck "F. Reset Time", and then click 'AP' button.
    5. Select my 'recovery.tar.md5' file that you previously extracted from my 7zip archive and press 'Start' button. The phone will reboot when finished.
    6. When the phone begins to vibrate just before rebooting : IMMEDIATELY press and hold 'VOL. UP' + 'HOME' buttons to boot straightly into your new recovery. <= THIS LAST STEP IS NEEDED ONLY ON SOME S4 MINI DEVICES TO ACHIEVE THE FLASHING PROCESS SUCCESSFULLY.

    TWRP v3.0.0-0 TRYOUTS for S4 mini are now out !

    Good afternoon,

    You will find updated builds to latest TWRP for S4 mini below (v3.0.0-0) : they are TRYOUTS ! They will maybe not boot because i tried to restore the brightness control feature which was causing a kernel panic. Anyway new builds are compiling ATM without it and they should be OK...

    3G | DS | LTE <= with brightness control feature : UPDATED AND NEEDING FEEDBACK !

    3G | DS | LTE <= without brightness control feature : ALREADY REPORTED AS WORKING BUT STILL NEEDING FEEDBACK !

    Let me know how it goes with them...

    PS : Files above are made to be flashed from current recovery. Flash at your own risk ! Once new files will be reported as working as they should, i will also add Odin ready packages. Please keep a copy of a STABLE Odin ready file for your device if you want to test above files out : if the updated recovery is not booting, then simply flash back previous version (v2.8.7.0) through Odin. Thank you !
