Ok, so I pull the plug when it says offline, then reinsert, and it comes up under adb devices in recovery mode. I then select update.zip (the first time, does it matter which file it is the first time?) it errors out of course. It then always errors out after trying to apply the ota.zip as update.zip. Is it supposed to correctly load this? Nothing successfully works beyond this point...

ok so I got a shower and then deleted anything that said mytouch in the usbdeview... I installed the slide snyc from HTC.com... still got negitive beeps... any suggestions?

adb push ota.zip /sdcard/update.zip

Now, at this point you enter in Command Prompt ( DONT HIT ENTER YET)
adb push update.zip /sdcard

Now you select update.zip via recovery
Once you see a Bar show up & start the update process, you hit Enter adb push update.zip /sdcard

Thanks for the heads up. Only thing I need root for is this. I personally like 90% of the espresso stuff and would like to keep that style rom in a 2.2 flavor with more customization. I just really really miss tether. I carry my G1 in my bag for this reason only.

this will pause the loop in windows prompt and ask if you want to stop the loop... so you can "see"
