Default RS 232 for Himalaya

I opened thread with idea to make a RS 232 cable with communication between Himalaya and PC?! Because my connecotor form phone fell of and 13 and 14 pins on phone board are in contact (destroyed) the usb function is not possible and the first 4 pins and the last 22nd pin on the connector are crushed. So i decided to use rest of the pins to communicate with pc! I charge battery with some universal charger and i solved that question. But sync problem stays! I don't want to use bluethoot because it drains my battery and maybe sometimes i decide to flash my phone with other software and i can't do that with bluethoot! And transmission rate with rs232 is about 1,5 mbit/s till bluethoot is not faster that 512 kbit/s!

On the http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...ame=Connectors i saw that pins from 6 to 11 are for the rs232 communication. And i have female rs232 connector and half of a USB cable (but the half with male himalaya connector which is need) If i could use these two half to solder one serial cable for sync i will be happy! I found out that voltage on rs 232 is about 12v and i need about 5v, so i need something to transform this power! Sry for english...

If anyone have any idea, link... Or he done this before let me notify!

c'mon ppls! Is it possible that no one knows that answer! I searched the net and found a simple null modem cable with only 3 wires, Tx, Rx and GND!

Himalaya----------(rs232 DB9)-------Function
9---------------------3-----------------Rx----------Tx
8---------------------2-----------------Tx----------Rx
5---------------------5------------------Signal ground

What transfer speed i can expect from this?! This is the cable without handshaking communication!

And according to this

Wallaby /
Himalaya_______9-pin connector(male)
2,5,16,17,18-----5 (gnd)
6 (dcd)----------4 (dtr)
7 (cts)----------7 (rts)
8 (txd)----------2 (rxd)
9 (rts)-----------8 (cts)
10 (rxd)---------3 (txd)
11 (dtr)---------6,1 (dsr, dcd)

I will get a full handshaking communication with hi-speed transfer!

So what is a better choice? First i can do it by my own, but the second is a bigger job and requires more time!?

If your still working on this...

Why not just wire up a usb or mini usb socket to the himalaya?

Lot easier!

You didn't read my post good!!! Board pins are in conntact! So, the USB function is NOT possible! I finished this project at the time i wrote this, and everything work great. Bought a Serial to USB adapter with integrated max232 ciurcut, the wireing is exact same like i presented in my post. Full handshaking, max serial speed! But afterall, not satisfied with the transfer speed... I sold my phone about 2 months ago!!!
